Ballard Estate designed by George Wittet, a commercial quarter in South Bombay, is a picturesque ode to London in India. It houses neo-classical architecture of a bygone time with remnants of open spaces in the form of gated alleys leading to courtyards trapped in between buildings. These spaces are now mostly inaccessible and derelict in nature.

The proposal intends to redesign the open spaces to adaptively re-use and revitalise these areas that had been disconnected from the public realm; all the while respecting the heritage inherent to the precinct.
